Park City Food and Wine Classic: July 10-14

The Park City Food and Wine Classic is an annual wining and dining summer extravaganza and in 2013 runs from July 10 to 14.   This one of a kind five day event witnesses  locals and visitors letting their hair down and enjoying tasty dishes and wine pairings from over a hundred food artisans, breweries, distilleries and wineries. All this in Park City and the shadows of the Western Rocky Mountain ranges.

A glance at the events schedule spanning the duration of the festival reveals tantalizing glimpses of the fun times ahead.

On Wednesday, July the 10th, the Blue Ranch Sky is the venue for The New Farm To Barn Wine Dinner--the Classic’s own version of the traditional Farm to Table concept. A great way to sample local food and wine. There will also be a fine dinner crafted by chefs of repute.

Similarly on Thursday 6 pm prepare to be transported in the St. Regis funicular to the Deer Valley Resort and get served with a variety of culinary creations. Plus learn about and sample the finest wines and cocktails in the company of industry experts.

Friday morning is time for the mountain biking, food and wine seminar -- Mud, Sweat & Cheers. You’ll ride through the beautiful Deer Valley Resort trails and end your exertions with a delicious lunch served by Executive Chef and no mean biker himself Zane Holmquist of Stein Ericksen Lodge, Deer Valley. The wine maker couple from Fisher vineyards and David Arthur Vineyards will ensure that your luncheon has aptly spirited company!

Saturday morning has something else in store for you. You start the Let’s Get Outside-Wine and Whiskey walk at the Town Lift where you take the chair lift to the top of Park City Mountain Resort. From there you walk in quaking aspens and over ridge tops to work up an appetite for a scrumptious lunch and wine tastings on the patio of High West Distillery and Saloon.

Sunday morning is a Mary Morning. This encompasses a relaxing hike in Deer Valley great views of the Jordanelle Reservoir. You end this delightful walk with a brunch prepared once again by Chef Zane Holmquist on the Glitretind with Bloody Marys to wash it down with.

These are just a few of the exciting events that define the Classic. Truly this festival offers a variety of experiences that take you to the top of the mountains, to fine dining restaurants, and to different and interesting parts of Park City.  You’ll learn about the finer nuances of good food and fine wine.

Like all good things in life however, there is a premium being a part of these great festivities and you’re well advised to book one’s ticket early. There is a $15 increase at the door on the day of the event to contend with and the chances of the tickets being available by then are slim.

And, if you join the Park City Food and Wine mailing list, you’ll be eligible to win two tickets to the Grand Tasting event on Saturday the 13th! However for everyone else, tickets to each of the events need to be purchased separately -- tickets do get sold in a quickly.

In the words of one of the regular revelers, “This festival is the highlight of my yearly summer visit to Park City, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Great food, plenty of beer to drink, and the picturesque beauty of these parts. Things can’t get any better than this!”

PeopleWell actually there is more to this fest than just getting together with master sommeliers, master chefs, culinary artists and people out to have good time. A part of the proceeds from the sale of the tickets benefits the People’s Health Clinic an organization that is dedicated towards providing medical support to the uninsured.
